B.R.T. TAP DANCE COMPANY Barcelona Rhythm Tap (BRT) is a tap company created in 1999 by the tap dancer and choreographer Guillem Alonso who has perform all around the world with some of the best tap shows and companies. This is the only Spanish company who shows the essence of tap like improvisation, choreographies from legendary Tap Masters, and showing other kind of dances who have been around tap, like sand dancing and body percussion. They play with different music stiles like Swing, Blues, Ballads, Latin and Funky, as well as creating rhythms without any kind of music, only with their shoes as a percussive instrument.Barcelona Rhythm Tap is very versatile, so it can perform with Jazz Trio, Dixieland Musicians or Big Bands.
The Performers:
The tap dancers Guillem Alonso, Roser Font, Josep Meléndez and Laia Molins are the "crème de la crème" of the Spanish tap scene, and is usual to see them performing in festivals, theatres and jazz clubs around Europe, Asia and USA. You can see in each of them a personal stile, which makes this world of tap so interesting, coming from the freedom of this art form.
